“I was initially inspired to pursue medicine to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Dr. Ai is board-certified in internal medicine and specializes in hematology and medical oncology (cancer and blood disorders). She has clinical interests in acute leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), transplant and cellular therapy and apheresis.

She is the medical director of the Apheresis of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute. In addition to English, Dr. Ai is fluent in Mandarin.

Dr. Ai received a PhD at The Ohio State University and her medical degree at Beijing Medical University. She completed residency at the University at Buffalo and a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
